Why did Marjane's parents send her to Europe? - Persepolis
Marjane's parents sent her to Europe for many reasons, I think they made the right decision. I believe the main reason they sent her to Austria was because she could still leave and continue her education. Their home was not a place where someone could learn and thrive, since they were constantly under fear of and being bombed. Her parents wanted to get her away from this, so they made the hard decision to send her to Austria, where she could attend a French school. Although Marjane's didn't always make the smartest decisions, she obviously turned out to be very successful. This might have not happened if her parents did not make the decision to get her out of Iran. It was very difficult for her at first, but I think she eventually started to feel more confortable towards the end of our reading.

ReplyDeleteGreat post, I agree with all of the points you mentioned. I especially agree with where you mention that the only reason for Marjane being successful, might've been because she was sent to Austria.
